"Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly."

Langston Hughes

WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION?  Senior Pastor, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hainesport, NJ

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY.  I have been married to Sandra for 28 years (we met in my senior year at Gettysburg College). She is a computer teacher in a nearby elementary school. Our son Robert is 26 and is an engineer for a firm in Riverside, NJ.  Our second son Chris is 24 and the head grill chef at Charley's Other Brother in Eastampton.  Our daughter Kari is 21 and will be starting her senior year at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE IN THE YEARS SINCE HIGH SCHOOL?  I taught junior and senior high school music (choir and band) at Fairfield Area Jr/Sr High in PA for ten years.  I took "early retirement" and attended seminary, where, upon graduating in 1989, I went to a church in Enola, PA (across the Susquehanna River from Harrisburg).  In 1994, I left there to accept a call at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hainesport, NJ (exit 5 of the Turnpike).

I've been involved in community groups, such as the band parents and the superintendent's advisory board, as well as the Municipal Alliance for Drug and Alcohol Education.  In 2005, I was enrolled in Leadership New Jersey, which, through monthly seminars, showed what was going on in the Garden State. In January of this year, the Governor appointed me to the State Board of Human Services.

I am also active in the Mount Holly Rotary Club, which gives me a chance to meet adults other than those in my church!

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE HIGH SCHOOL MEMORIES? My years in the band were a lot of fun. I saw a woman who looked like Miss Tamm on the train last month, and it made me think of our senior play.

WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS There is a lot to do in this congregation, so I think I would like to stay here for awhile. Now that both Sandra and I are at an income level vastly different than we have been in the past, we can do some traveling.

WILL YOU ATTEND THE 35TH REUNION?   Yes!

DO YOU HAVE ANY MESSAGES FOR OUR CLASSMATES?  You have five months to clear your schedules of anything other than the reunion in November!
